Orlov has traditionally paid its tithe in materiel; it wasn't until 995.M41 when it was demanded to provide Guardsmen. Due to the recent Ork Waaagh! on the nearby worlds of Arkannis, Yulio, and Granikus, Orlov was forced to contribute 3 newly founded regiments. These regiments are all currently engaged on Arkannis, and after numerous setbacks, are beginning to make a name for themselves.

Orlov First Regiment of Foot-The first regiment raised by Orlov, the First Regiment of Foot is a light infantry. The 1st is mainly made up of Orlov's residents who lived in the more remote reaches of the planet and are used to hunting and foraging. The First's officer corp is mainly draw up from the cities. Currently being led by Colonel Fridrik Vanislov, a former colonel from the Arkannis 33rd Armoured Regiment who was sent to lead the First as a disciplinary action (mainly for sustaining high combat loses and losing irreplaceable equipment such as the 33rd regiment's only Baneblade) but was seen as too skillful to waste and is carefully watch by the regiment's commissar. Commissar-Captain Alexandr Kursk is the leading political officer of the First. The regiment has faced many setbacks since arriving on Arkannis (such as being issued uniforms for desert combat on a world that is usually freezing), the regiment's commander seeking fame to regain his position on Arkannis by sending the regiment on suicidal missions they are ill equipped for (such as being sent to counter an Ork armored assault when they barely have ammunition for their lasguns), and being just plain under-trained. Currently seen as a ragtag unit of scavengers and thieves (mostly due to their lack of proper equipment and their need to creatively "requisition" the supplies they need), though as the conflict on Arkannis drags on for years instead of months they may begin to receive the proper equipment. The 1st Regiment of Foot has begun to excel in hit-and-run tactics, infiltration and reconnaissance, and is noted for its high numbers of marksmen (as most were originally hunters on their homeworld). Unlike most regiments, the Orlov 1st receives reinforcements semi-regularly basis as the First is fighting one a world just two systems over. The Orlov Heptarchical Council (planetary government on Orlov) has decided to keep the First at full or close to full fighting strength and see keeping at least one regiment as a symbol of planetary prestige. Typically when the regiment loses over five companies, the planet will begin raising more. The First usually has a fighting force of between 3-10,000 troops. The First also has a single Chimera transport used as a mobile command vehicle. On Arkannis, the First is mainly based around a makeshift encampment called Flakboard Flats.

Second Mechanized Infantry Regiment-Unlike the First, the Second has many transports available. While the First has seen numerous setbacks, the Second has been rather lucky and more properly trained. Like the First and Third, the Second was raised and sent to combat the Orks on the nearby world of Arkannis. The 2nd usually finds itself thanklessly ferrying the First around or supporting the 3rd. The 2nd, while serving alongside the 3rd, managed to insipire many during the Arkannis Campaign when it fought and drove off an ork raid. E Company of the 2nd managed to hold off the orks after getting stranded in enemy territory for four days straight. The commander of the Second Mechanized is Colonel Felix Kohbar, a young officer transfered from Diolim. Commissar Otril Kelski oversees the Second and answers to Commisssar-Captain Kursk. The Second usually has a fighting force of roughly 4,000 troops, and about 42 Chimeras. The Second was stationed at Thunderbolt Peak during the Arkannis Campaign. Thunderbolt Peak was a makeshift airfield the Navy orignially used as a drop site. As the war escallated, the Navy converted it into an airfield to better launch atmospheric attacks. The Second was mainly tasked with keeping orks away from this strategic airfield.

Third Armoured Regiment-Mostly raised from Orlov's city dwellers, versus the First or Second who draw their members mostly from the countryside. The Third was originally intended to be a mechanized infantry regiment like the Second but an error from higher ups in the Administratum caused a hundred tanks to be mistakingly delivered. While the regiment expected to receive Chimeras, it found itself with a Malcador Battle Tank and a hundred Leman Russ variants. While mostly inexperienced, the Third has played a major role in the Arkannis Campaign where its tanks were the key to repelling ork offensives. Local citizen of Orlov, Colonel Yollur Umgratask, commands the 3rd Armoured. Commissar Karya Felmmark oversee the 3rd.
