Named after the Jovian moon Ganymede, this .50cal semi-automatic sniper rifle was introduced in 2164. The Republic of Jupiter wanted a compact, short, high powered sniper rifle, and after many tests, the Ganymede was passed into service. Due to its size and tight rifling, the Ganymede has seen use in many military units.
