Description
The Coastal Defense Force serves as both the military and police force for the republic. The Coastal Army is the ground force, with roughly 12,000 soldiers; the Rivers and Waters Patrol Force serve as the de facto navy with 1,000 members and roughly 50 re-purposed watercraft; the Coastal Air Force, the smallest branch with 45-75 members, 10-15 pilots and about 53 aircraft with 3 operational F-16's, 7 kept around for emergencies, 1 C-130 transport, and several aircraft are kept for parts. The CAF also maintains several salvaged retrofitted small aircraft (mostly old civilian helicopters retrofitted with machine guns and old crop dusters). The Coastal Police Force is controlled by the Department of Defense and is a branch of the CDF with 5,000 officers. The Special Forces are under the direct control of the president and their numbers are currently unknown. The Bureau of State Security and Counter-Terrorism is responsible for the republic intelligence gathering programs and works closely with the Department of Foreign Relations.
