Chozoan Imperial Navy

Description

Controlling a realm consisting of over 400,000 galaxies at its height would be impossible without a massive navy. The Chozoan Empire was for many years the holder of the largest fleet in the universe. The Imperial Navy had four roles to fulfill; one, defended the empire from space bound attack; two, patrol the realm of the empire; three, enforce the Oblivion Council's will over the worlds under its control; and four, transporting the ground based forces of the military. To better administrate the navy, it was divided into fifteen Regional Defense Fleet groupings each named after their port of operations. They were as followed; the Oblivion Fleet, the Central Fleet, the Northern Fleet, the Southern Fleet, the Eastern Fleet, the Far Eastern Fleet, the Northwestern Fleet, the Cthulu Fleet (the Southwestern Fleet was a more common name), the Aku'an Fleet, the Kingdoms Fleet, the Za Fleet, the Southern Reaches Fleet, the Wastes Fleet, and the East and West Borders Fleet. All were under the command of the High Admiral-General of the Imperial Navy. Aside from ferrying troops around, the Imperial Navy vessels usually sent their own ground forces to secure and establish beachheads before sending the main fighting force down to the surface.

Ships of the Imperial Chozoan Navy
-Battleships-
Krilo Frek Battleship
The largest ship of the Imperial Navy, the Krilo Frek class is named after the first Oblivion Lord. The most heavily armed and armored, a single Krilo Frek Battleship is a ponderous, slow behemoth. Despite having eight engines, the Krilo Freks are the slowest ships in the fleet. almost always will a Krilo Frek be surrounded by hundreds of escorts to protect and supply it. Due to the large amounts of armor and guns, the ship lacks storage space. As a result it relies on other ships to supply it. Because the Krilo Frek is an extremely expensive ship to manufacture, the loss of one is seen as unacceptable. If one is lost and its commander survives, they will usually be executed. Generally speaking, most captains tend to keep the ship out of enemy reach, and if one retreats, the rest of the fleet will too.

Oblivion Class Battleship
The Oblivion Class was designed as a cheaper version of the Krilo Frek. While it still packs some serious firepower, it is much weaker than a Krilo Frek. While it has six engines instead of eight, the Oblivion class is faster than a Krilo Frek. As a result of being more cost efficient, the Oblivion class is the most common of the two classes of battleships.

-Battlecruisers-
Caerris Class Battlecruiser
Faster than a battleship but less well armed or armored, the Caerris is still a powerful vessel. Developed to fit the gap between cruiser and battleship, the Caerris somewhat fails to fulfill both. Its speed is what has saved the Caerris from being outdated as it is the fastest ship of its size.

-Cruisers-
Khaidras Class Cruiser
The Khaidras is the Imperial Navy's most well armed ships of its size. While larger and more armored than a Caerris, the Khaidras is less armed. The only real advantage over the Caerris is its torpedo tubes.

Cthulu Class Cruiser
Sacrificing speed for armor and firepower, the Cthulu is designed for long range attack runs. Designed in Port Cthulu in the Western Province, the Cthulu class was meant for combating piracy in the area. Its introduction helped reduce piracy in the Western Province and as a result it began seeing service outside the West.

Twentro-Zwa Class Cruiser
Modifying the Cthulu class, the Twentro-Zwa class focuses more on speed and armor than firepower. Adding more armor and more engines have resulted in less storage space, so the Twentro-Zwa has less range than a Cthulu. The Twentro-Zwa was mainly designed for carrying fighters to protect the fleet.

-Frigates-
Hydra Class Frigate
The Hydra was designed to protect the larger ships of the fleet. The Hydra is the largest ship of its class. Because of its size, it is typically utilized as a supply ship.

Rrazav Class Frigate
The fastest frigate class of vessels, the Rrazavs are frequently used as scout ships and to quickly rush to the aid of other ships.

Zwii Class Frigate
A redesign of the Rrazav class, the Zwii sacrifices speed for armor.

-Destroyers-
Khaldrasii Class Destroyer
A fairly common ship, the Khaldrasii is frequently used as a messenger ship.

Orliop Class Destroyer
Taking the Khaldrasii class' design, the Orliop class features extra torpedo tubes to better defend itself.

Kavrazii Class Destroyer
Taking the idea from the Orliop class' design, the Kavrazi features more torpedo tubes. Sacrificing space so it can carry more torpedoes and armor, the Kavrazii carries less guns than an Orliop but is better armored.

Jershen Class Destroyer
The Jershen class was design with a single thing in mind; carrying fighters. The Jershen's speed allows it to quickly move to were it is needed and send out its fighters.

-Corvettes-
Delleon Class Corvette
A small, fast moving ship, the Delleon was designed to provided support fire to were ever it was needed at a moments notice and then move before the enemy can return fire. The Delleon is mainly used to harass enemy ships.

Kellik Class Corvette
The Kellik class was designed to mainly to launch as many torpedoes as possible. While that job may be better left to a Kavrazii Class Destroyer, the Kellik is faster and can easily move into position.

-Other-
Jelmatus Class Submarine
Named after traditional submarines, the Jelmatus was designed to use its drives to phase out of reality to avoid enemy ships and reenter realty to unleash its torpedoes into unsuspecting ships. A rather rare sight in the Chozoan Navy due to its costs and high maintenance, all of the Jelmatuses were technically under the control of the Chozoan Imperial War Committee, hence while it bares the war flag not the naval ensign, that were being assigned to the assist the navy.

He'tresk Class Multi-Utility Ship
An ancient Baku'an design, the He'tresk was originally used to haul loot back to the Baku'an homelands after raiding. When the Chozoans incorporated the Baku'ans into the empire, the He'tresk was included into the Imperial Navy as a supply ship, prisoner ship, mine layer, and as a messenger ship. Most He'treskes bear Baku'an markings instead of Chozoan naval markings since almost all He'treskes were commissioned in Baku'an shipyards.

Imjorahk Class Raider
Named after the Baku'an district of Imjorahk on the border with the Southern Province, the Imjorahk was originally used to raid Chozoan worlds along the border. They were eventually adopted into the Chozoan Imperial Navy as fast merchant raider or as convoy protection.

Bahklrsk Class Heavy Raider
Named after the Baku'an district of Bahklrsk on the border with the Southern Province, the Bahklrsk was commissioned as an alternative to the Imjorahk. It sacrifices the Imjorahks speed for heavier weaponry and more cargo space.

Tithdrow Class U Transport
Named after the Ti Kingdom's capital Tithdrow (Tee-ith-drow), the Tithdrow was originally a merchant ship. Pressed into service into the Chozoan Imperial Navy, the Tithdrow was used as a supply ship and entire armadas of Tithdrows almost always followed Chozoan war fleets.

Tri Source Routes Trader
The Source Trade Routes were a series of trade routes that used to travel through the turbulent region of space know only as "The Source" between the nations of the universe with the remote, yet prosperous, Tri Empire expanded eastward bring new riches and technology forth. Built to traverse this dangerous region of space by the Tri Empire, these merchant ships were seen throughout the Chozoan Empire. They were fast and well armored. Many were frequently requited, along with their crews, as mercenaries to shore up the Chozoan Navy at times, especially in the regions of the empire that were separated from the gate system (which meant travel times were significantly longer).

Caesis Class Carrier
The largest vessel in the Chozoan Navy, the Caesis was mainly used as a troop transport ship able to transport entire armies. Due to its size it was frequently used as a supply ship. Its many hanger bays, which were used for landing craft, could be easily converted to support entire fighter wings.

Traakuul Class Monitor
Built in the around the design of Baku'an raiders, the Traakuul was meant to provide long range fire support to ports. Its main gun was designed to cut threw the hulls of ships.

Cenrav Class Cutter
The most common warship in the Imperial Navy, the Cenrav Class Cutter was a simple, low cost escort, the Cenrav was also the smallest purpose built warship in the Chozoan fleet. The Cenrav was also the fastest Chozoan built warship.
